Where to Eat with a Group

While LBI has 18 miles of gorgeous beaches, it’s less than half a mile wide at its largest point. This doesn’t leave much room for real estate or big, expansive restaurants which is why you’ll find some of your favorite spots are so hard to get into… there’s just no room!

Even though the island is small, it is mighty, and many of our restaurants have figured out ways to accommodate your group of 8, 15 or 18 anyway (+ comfortably!). Here’s the scoop on the best restaurants to dine with a group on LBI.

Note, there are limited large group reservations that you can find on OpenTable or Resy, but if you can’t find something there, we always recommend calling the restaurant to see what’s possible. They want to welcome your family and friends and will do what they can to make it happen!

Parker’s Garage

Parker’s long tables and huge dining room means they can easily accommodate larger parties. Reservations do fill up fast so be sure to make them early. You can always call ahead to see if the restaurant can fit your group the day-of, but you have a much better shot booking in advance. Once your table is secured, you’re in for a treat. The menu is completely shareable, so order one of everything for the group and dig in. Appetizer stand-outs include the lobster corn dogs, clam chowder croquettes, and short rib fries. This restaurant is BYOB so make sure you don’t show up empty-handed!

Station 117

Station 117 is one of LBI’s newer restaurants so there’s a good chance your group hasn’t tried this spot yet… woot. The dining room is large and spacious, making it ideal for larger groups. Their menu has a little something for everyone including the blackened salmon for the seafood lover, stuffed portobello mushrooms for the vegetarians and even raw fish to satisfy that constant sushi craving. Station 117 also has a large cocktail menu that rivals any bar on the island, which is sure to appease your friends who prefer something a little fancier than a White Claw. ;)

Fuji 72

While Fuji 72 is on the mainland right before the bridge, the food and atmosphere are well worth the drive. They can easily accommodate larger parties at their hibachi tables and there’s plenty of parking so everyone can take their own car. The food here is absolutely delicious; the steak hibachi dinner is our favorite and the sushi is easily some of the best in the area. Be sure to stop by the liquor store on the way as this restaurant is BYOB (another plus). If you’re looking for something a little more last minute, this is the spot to try.

Bird and Betty’s

To dine on Bird and Betty’s brand-new deck, call the day-of as soon as they open (11AM!) to see if they can fit you in. Be flexible with timing and you’ll be rewarded with excellent views and food, the most winning combo. The clam pie and tequila cocktails are a perfect pairing, along with their menu of shareable snacks like shishito peppers, hand-pulled mozzarella, frito misto, steamed clams and roasted wings. If they have a table available for sunset, RUN, don’t walk, to snag it.
