Visit These BYOB Restaurants on LBI
One of the most unique things about the Jersey shore is our abundance of BYOB restaurants. You won’t find that luxury in many other parts of the shore, nonetheless the country. You can’t beat dining out with a wine or beer you actually love, not just whatever the restaurant is serving. Saving a few bucks buying our own alcohol doesn’t hurt either. ;)
We love BYOB restaurants, as long as we know before we go! Showing up to a BYO spot without your favorite bottle of wine is a major blunder. Don’t worry, we know exactly where the best BYOB restaurants are on LBI and are ready to deliver.
Angelina’s
Amazing Italian food calls for equally amazing wine, so bring your wine connoisseur “A-game” when dining at Angelina’s. You can never go wrong picking up a chianti to compliment Angelina’s Mezza Rigatoni Bolognese — a housemade sweet and spicy pork sausage ragu topped with the freshest ricotta on the island. We love to dine in their outdoor garden area when the weather is just right. When that warm summer breeze blows and the aroma of pasta and bread hit, we’re transported to the coast of Italy right here on LBI. Finish your meal with an affogato, composed of vanilla gelato, espresso and crumbled amaretto, and thank us for the good times later.
Roberto’s Dolce Vita
Roberto’s Dolce Vita is a Long Beach Island staple for a reason. In addition to being BYOB, Roberto’s has consistently incredible food and great service. Forgot your wine? No worries. They have offerings from Sharrott Winery that will perfectly compliment your pesto pasta. Dine by the fireplace in their dining room during the cool winter months and in their outdoor tent in the summer. No matter where you choose, the ambiance at Roberto’s combines all the best aspects of your favorite Italian restaurant.
Dune 18
If you’re looking for unique seafood dishes on LBI, Dune 18 executes the perfect balance of creative and classic. While they call their cuisine “New American,” their menu takes inspiration from all over the world. The Thai coconut seared scallops are unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else. They serve the scallops over jasmine rice with a red curry coconut cream sauce, and while we’d never think to put this combo together, we’re so grateful the masterminds at Dune 18 figured it out. Pick up a versatile chilled Riesling on the way so no matter which meal you and your guests choose, it will pair perfectly. Dine under their fairy lights in their side garden and you’re in for a magical night of delicious food.
Blue Water Cafe
We’ve all been there…. it’s Saturday night and you forgot to make reservations so you find yourself scrambling for a restaurant that can accommodate your (very hungry) group. Our go-to? The Blue Water Cafe. They don’t take reservations, just walk-ins, so your Saturday night misstep is no problem. All you have to do is bring along a bottle of wine or a six pack and you’re ready for one of the best meals you’ll have on LBI. You can’t go wrong by ordering any of the seafood dishes here, but our favorite is the Absolute Seafood. It’s a delicious combination of crabmeat, scallops and shrimp tossed in a blush cream sauce over penne. Polish it all off with their iconic layered coconut cake (it’s gluten free!) or opt for a pistachio gelato.
