LBI’s Best Pies
Whether you’re heading to a backyard BBQ or looking for an after-dinner dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth, pie is the perfect summer dessert. There’s a flavor to satisfy any craving and you’re sure to discover some new ones at our local pie shops.
Keep it classic with a peach cobbler or apple pie or try something new like a blueberry key lime pie (incredible!). With lots of bakery options on the island, you’ll be sure to find the perfect hostess gift or pairing for your scoop (or two) of ice cream. Here’s where to go on Long Beach Island to satisfy your pie craving without even turning on the oven!
Baked On The Beach
If you’re on the hunt for fun and funky pies, try Baked on the Beach in Surf City. This unassuming bakery looks like any adorable little cottage from the outside, but the second you get out of the car you’ll get a waft of fresh baked goods that tell you otherwise. They have all the classics that you know and love like blueberry peach, apple, and mixed berry pies, and adventurers will want to sink their teeth into the blueberry key lime flavor. The staff is super helpful and they have a great variety of gluten-free items for our flour-free friends.
Country Corner Farm Market
There’s no better place to stock up on fresh produce, plants and homemade pies than Country Corner Farm Market in Ship Bottom. This little corner market has a rotating list of flavors from apple and blueberry lemon to key lime and coconut cream. We love to stop by here for groceries and leave with a sweet treat!
Holiday Snack Bar
Pull up a seat at Holiday Snack Bar, a 1950’s-style diner bar that’s legendary for it’s burgers and, of course, pies. The Holiday Snack Bar has been a staple for locals and vacationers alike for their old fashioned-style menu and vibes. Stop by for a slice or pick up an entire cake or pie on your way to a BBQ. Try the “no-name” pie for a delicious treat - it’s loaded with coconut, pecan and chocolate chips and pairs perfectly with a scoop of vanilla.
Big Apple Bakery
While it’s not on the island, the short drive over the bridge is well worth it for Big Apple Bakery. It’s one of the best bakeries around and they have a wide variety of Italian baked goods, donuts, fresh breads and pasta, and homemade pies. The order here is their half and half pie, which is half banana cream pie and half chocolate cream pie. There’s usually a line here on weekends so get here early or come the night before (they stay open until 5) to avoid the line!
