The Local Market & Kitchen
In addition to some of the best coffee on LBI, The Local Market & Kitchen offers one of the finest sandwich selections. Its menu is full of unique made-to-order combinations that include everything from seafood options to cold cut delights. They offer a fresh take on originals (think a BLT with a fried green tomato) as well as fun takes on the classics, like a turkey salad sandwich (chicken salad, who?). If you aren't feeling adventurous, you can still get a traditional caprese on a crusty baguette or a Cuban sandwich on ciabatta.
Okie’s
Calling all meat lovers; Okie's means business! This Surf City butcher shop offers both high quality meats for purchase and to go hoagies. Their hoagies are massive, stuffed to the brim and fully loaded with meats, cheeses and toppings. A full hoagie is enough for two, or one if you’re really hungry (us) and our favorite is the italian (pro tip: get the pickle on the side). So whether you call it a hoagie, sub, hero, grinder or sandwich, I think we can all be on the same side here when we say they’re the best of the best.
Lenny & John's Subs
Lenny & John's opened their third location in Beach Haven so you know they are already seasoned sandwich-making professionals. While you can't go wrong with anything on their menu, the sloppy joe and famous tuna sub are standouts. Piled high with meat, their sloppy joe is what (messy) dreams are made of. On the other hand, the famous tuna sub hails from a family recipe and will not disappoint.
Pearl Street Market
Pearl Street Market in Beach Haven is always a crowd pleaser. With its wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, the options are seriously never ending. Thank goodness the menu is posted online, am I right?! If you need to make a game time decision, the crab cake sandwich and lobster roll are local favorites as are the Pearl Street BLT and Grilled Veggie Combo. Pearl Street Market also offers ample outdoor seating if you just can't wait to dig in.
Island Market
Island Market believes in keeping sandwiches simple. This Brant Beach deli has ten standard offerings on their menu and allows you to customize your hoagie with various add ons. If you are looking for a hot meal, you can also opt for one of their grill options and get yourself a cheesesteak or a breakfast sandwich. They’ve got a real hometown vibe and will make you feel just like a local as you shop for odds and ends in the produce section and await your pork roll, egg and cheese.
