The Gables
Located in an elegant bed and breakfast, The Gables is a romantic setting for an evening on the town. With its white tablecloths, chandeliers, and beautiful floral arrangements, this is definitely the fanciest dining experience you can have in LBI. The menu is a prix fixe option but it changes seasonally and the food is absolutely delicious. Some highlights over the years include seared local scallops, roasted berkshire pork chop and homemade cavatelli. Head to The Gables for your next date night; it won’t disappoint.
Howard's
Howard's is an island staple, especially when it comes to seafood. Who doesn't want to try a french fried lobster or lobster bisque while you sit dockside? The restaurant offers grilled fish and shellfish as well as chicken and steak dishes that would please any carnivore. While Howard’s definitely offers an elevated dining experience, the environment feels more welcoming and family oriented. Get the family together and have a special meal at Howard's.
Stefano's
Visit Stefano's for a fine dining experience, Italian style. The restaurant has a dreamy ambience, with chandeliers to gaze at while you’re ordering the first round of calamari. The menu skews both classic and inventive, with favorites like linguine in white clam sauce, veal parm or seafood a la vodka mingling with Stefano originals, special seafood dishes curated by the chef (highlights: seafood abbondonza, risotto del mar, scallops samantha). Bring a bottle of your favorite fancy wine to complete the experience.
Black Eyed Susans
Black Eyed Susans is a hidden gem in Harvey Cedars. It is probably one of the best kept secrets among locals, but we’re going to share it with you because it’s just too good not to. Think locally-sourced American food with a heavy emphasis on seafood in a homey yet classy setting. The menu rotates based on what’s seasonally available, but expect shared plates like oysters, olives, artisan cheese and lamb meatballs as well as cacio e pepe, lamb chops, lobster gnocchi and more. Don't forget to order bread to start and to bring your bevvy of choice since it's BYOB!
