Nothing says “beach vacation” like throwing on a bib and cracking open a whole lobster for dinner. Add a side of fresh Jersey corn and some drawn butter and we’re in heaven! Here’s our list of the best restaurants for a lobster dinner on LBI. 

Howard’s Seafood Restaurant 

Howard’s is an LBI institution; think waterfront dining, BYOB, and classic seafood dishes. What keeps us coming back, though, is their unique take on a lobster dinner. Cue, the French fried lobster. You’ll get lobster tail that’s breaded and deep fried, served with drawn butter and lemon. It’s all the sweet-and-salty lobster goodness without any of the work. If you can't get enough lobster, you can’t miss the lobster bisque here either. Add a few oyster crackers to this creamy delight and you’re set!

Ship Bottom Shellfish

Ship Bottom Shellfish serves up giant fresh lobsters straight from their tank. Get a classic, whole steamed lobster or opt for the grilled lobster tails, which you can get stuffed with their signature Crab Imperial for some extra cash. Choose two sides to go with your lobster dinner like baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw or corn on the cob. Enjoy your dinner alfresco in their outdoor dining area strung with twinkling lights. Finish your meal off with a blueberry cobbler made with NJ blueberries and make sure to get it a la mode.

Harvey Cedars Shellfish Company serves its lobster by the pound at 1 lb, 1.5 lb and 2 lb. Pick a size and they’ll steam up your dinner on the spot. Choose from sides like garlic bread, jersey corn and old bay fries to round out your meal. This spot is cash only and BYOB so be sure to hit the liquor store and ATM on your way.
