Food trucks are the unicorns of Long Beach Island, Manahawkin, and surrounding towns’ food scene. They pop up here and there - at breweries, during private events, on the side of the road - and it always feels like a treat to stumble upon them. While you never quite know what you’re going to get, it’s always fun to explore the menu and try something new and unexpected. In times like these, it’s never been more important to support our local businesses, so next time you see those four wheels, order a bite and welcome the magic.

Our list of best food trucks is here to help you navigate your food options when you happen upon them during spontaneous outings. What’s more, you can hire these guys and gals to come to your drive-by bridal shower / baby shower / just-want-to-hang shower and keep everyone safe, socially distanced and well fed.

The beauty of the food truck is that you can always find something to satisfy your food mood, from tacos, BBQ, burgers, sandwiches and more. Check out our list below of the best food trucks that frequent LBI.

Sunny Rae's Kitchen

Sunny Rae's is a foodie paradise on wheels with a mission to elevate street food to a gourmet level. Whether you like tacos, sliders, or chicken bites you’re in luck because they have all of that. The pork belly tacos are a fan-favorite and the fresh cut fries are an essential part of the order. Check out their Facebook page to make sure you never miss them!

Five Sisters

Five Sisters is the official home of the “Fat Sandwich” which is a combination of multiple foods squished on a roll, like the Fat Philly that’s loaded up with cheesesteak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, ketchup/mayo and fries all on a hoagie. Who doesn't like the sound of that? In addition to these specialities they also have burgers and fries, and the pulled pork is a sleeper hit (and award-winning). You can usually find the Five Sisters Truck in Jackson Township and their website has a calendar detailing its whereabouts.

Big Barlow's

At Big Barlow's, it is all about that BBQ. Think pulled pork, spare ribs, wings and brisket. Of course, you no barbecue meal is complete without your classic sides like pit beans, mac and cheese, fries, and grilled veggies. It all started as a food "trailer" and grew into a brick-and-mortar Barnegat establishment last year. Check their Instagram page for daily specials!
